Outline (in English)

Some news articles dealing with data such as public statistics, surveys, opinion polls have unconsciously or intentionally generated expressions that produce an erroneous interpretation and misunderstanding. The course objectives are: 1) understanding the mechanisms of the media behind it and the current state of journalism, 2) learning skills and literacy to correctly read and understand the data, and 3) thinking about the significance and potential of "data journalism" through examples of news reports on Covid-19 and US presidential election.
