Outline (in English)

To succeed in this course, you must get out of your chair and actively discuss global issues with partners, in small groups, and with the whole class. You will be asked to improvise, role play, hold debates, give presentations, and engage in other forms of structured discussion in English. The tasks in this course are designed to deepen your learning by nudging you out of your comfort zone. When you complete this course, you will have gained knowledge about the world, practical skills in using the English language, and experience in speaking out. The global issues of focus (poverty, nuclear threats, environmental issues, violations of human rights, and inequality) are selected to broaden your perspective by drawing your attention to different parts of the world.
