Outline (in English)

This course is designed for graduate students to cultivate their academic reading and writing skills. As the materials and contents of this course will largely reflect students’ research interests, it is important for each student to clarify the particular areas of study or research topics he or she is focusing on in the graduate program upon attending the first class meeting of this course. At the completion of the course, students will have acquired a practical strategy for reading English research papers and be able to appropriately cite data, suggestions, or findings from previous studies. Students will also be able to write an abstract for their own research project in English according to the format required by particular academic journals.
