Outline (in English)

The lecture introduces the trajectory of China's economic growth from a historical and macroeconomic perspectives, the pattern of the transition from a planned economy to a socialist market economy, and the facts and problems of the modern Chinese economy. We will understand the factors behind China's economic growth from different sides (e.g., history, institutions and policies, economic development, and transition) and clarify the position of the Chinese economy and the features of Chinese economic growth in comparison with developed countries such as Japan, the countries in Europe and the United States.
