Outline (in English)
Course Outline:
In this class, you will learn the daily English, with the themes of "modern food topics" and "traditional British and American festivals and food culture." Quick response, shadowing, and synchronized reading are used to improve listening comprehension. Also, in order to acquire reading comprehension, you will acquire slash reading and translation techniques.

For vocabulary and translations that you do not understand, look up the dictionary and prepare. Listen to the CD and check the pronunciation. Do text exercises.
Review
Review that what you learned in class.
Grading Criteria/Policy
Final exam: 50%
Normal point: 50%(Participation in class, attitude, presentation)
Grade evaluation criteria

Credits can not be earned if absent 4 times or more.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
春学期に引き続き、食料と食文化のグローバル化に伴い、外国人との情報交換、海外への観光、留学などの可能性が増しています。この授業では、「現代の食をめぐる話題」と「英米の伝統的な祝祭と食文化」をテーマに取り上げ、日常生活に必要な英語を習得します。春学期は、読解力を身につけるために、通訳訓練法のスラッシュ・リーディングをして訳出テクニックを習得します。基礎的な英語をもう一度復習しながら、さらに英語力のレベルアップを図ります。

授業形式は、テキストを中心に、演習授業になる。各学生は、予習して授業に臨み、順番に訳出して、練習問題を解いていく。読解力の向上のみならず、音読やシャドーイングの通訳訓練法も取り入れ、リスニング力の向上にも努める。発表後、毎回アドバイスする。

本授業の準備学習・復習時間は、合わせて1時間を標準とします。/University guidelines suggest preparation and review should be around an hour a week for a one-credit course.
準備学習：分からない語彙、訳があれば、辞書を引き予習しておくことCDを聞き、発音を確認しておくことテキストの練習問題をしておくこと。
復習：授業内で習得した内容について、復習して下さい。
