Outline (in English)

Ergonomics is concerned with designing easy-to-use products (e.g. personal devices, machine interfaces, and software). An ultimate goal is user interfaces adapting to individual users. It is therefore important to capture individual user preferences and behaviors. This course introduces machine learning and multivariate analysis as a possible way to find user preferences and behaviors. Topics include neural networks with supervised and unsupervised learning, analysis of variance, principal component analysis, factor analysis and independent component analysis.
