Outline (in English)

This is a once-a-week English course where students learn how to write clear sentences and paragraphs in English.
The objective of this course is to deepen students’ knowledge about academic writing and develop students' writing skills with improved accuracy, fluency and confidence.
After completing the course, students will be able to:
1. analyze model paragraphs
2. find ideas for their writing
3. put their ideas into sentences
4. organize their sentences into paragraphs
5. review their paragraphs
6. revise their paragraphs so that they become even stronger
Students will be expected to have completed textbook exercises before class and the required assignments after class. Students should expect 1.5 hours or more of homework and study time outside class.
Final grade in the class will be decided based on the following.
Participation: 10%, Vocabulary List: 10%, Quick-Write: 10%, Final Exam: 30%, Major Writing Assignments: 40%
