Outline (in English)
This course focuses on the concepts, principles, issues, and practices of operations management. The main theme of the course is centered around the management processes (operation processes) for effective operations in organizations involved in the production of goods and the provision of services.
Each session's theme includes operation strategy, process design, production capacity planning, facility location and design, forecasting, production scheduling, inventory management, quality assurance, and project management.
These themes are constructed with the assumption of real organizational operation systems in mind.

このコースでは、オペレーションズマネジメントの概念、原則、問題、および実践を紹介します。
コースのメインテーマは、製品を生産する組織およびサービスを提供する組織において、効果的なオペレーションのための管理プロセス（オペレーションプロセス）にあります。
各回のテーマには、オペレーション戦略、プロセス設計、生産能力の計画、施設の位置と設計、予測、生産スケジューリング、在庫管理、品質保証、およびプロジェクトマネジメントが含まれます。
これらのテーマは、実際の組織のオペレーションのシステムを想定して構築されています。
到達目標Goal
このコースの目的は、企業組織の「オペレーションズマネジメントとは【なにか】、そして【どのように運営されるのか】について理解を深めることです。
このコース修了時に学生に期待するのは以下の点です。
-組織の製造およびオペレーションズマネジメント機能に対する理解が深まる。

このコースは、講義およびケースディスカッションによって、学生がオペレーションズマネジメントの基本的な知識を掴むことができます。
また，実際の企業管理を理解してもらう為に簡単なシュミレーションを実施します。
ケースが議論される際，そしてシュミレーション自習の際には、学生の積極的な参加を期待しています。教室内の発言や意見は「正しい」または「間違っている」ということはありません。したがって、学生に対しては、ディスカッションのスキル向上のために、質問や意見を述べることを期待します。課題のフィードバックはクラス内で行われます。
Face-to-face classes (except for session #1)
This course is designed to help students grasp basic knowledge of operations management through lectures and case discussions.
In addition, a simple simulation will be conducted to give students an understanding of actual corporate management.
Active student participation is expected when cases are discussed and during the simulation self-study. There is no "right" or "wrong" statement or opinion in the classroom. Therefore, we expect students to ask questions and express their opinions in order to improve their discussion skills. Feedback on assignments will be given in class.

各回小テスト（QUIZという）の累計：50％
中間クイズ：10％
ケースレポート（シミュレーション）：20％
最終クイズ（＃14クラス内）：20％

The cumulative total of each quiz (called QUIZ): 50%.
Mid-term quiz: 10%.
Case report (simulation): 20%.
Final quiz (#14 in-class): 20%.
