The course will develop the participants' English essay writing, listening, vocabulary and discussion skills through consideration of various issues related to current affairs.

The course will develop the participants' English essay writing, listening, vocabulary and discussion skills through consideration of various issues related to current affairs.
到達目標Goal
This course will focus on the essay writing process from the initial stages of gathering information and planning, to the organisation of an essay, and the final stage of proofreading for content and accuracy. The course will give students practice in these skills, and will require the students to apply the skills in order to produce a problem solution paragraph and multi-paragraph discussion essay.

The course will be based around classroom listening, discussion and writing tasks which will involve students working in groups and pairs. Reading and writing tasks will mainly be carried out outside the class. There will also be some work on vocabulary building and grammar. The classroom language will be English, and students will be required to actively participate in classroom and homework tasks.
Feedback on homework tasks will be provided via Google Classroom and Gmail using rubrics along with personalized comments. For the final essay, personalized feedback will be provided on the two drafts using the comments feature of Google Docs.
