Outline (in English)

[Course Outline]
This course provides an introduction to the fundamentals of informatics as they relate to business activities and the development of computer technologies. In the first half, students will explore topics such as information representation and communication networks, grounded in the basic mechanisms of computers. The second half covers foundational and applied topics including operating systems, programming languages, information security, algorithms, and artificial intelligence.

[Learning Objectives]
The aim of the course is to develop a broad understanding of the basic concepts in informatics, with a focus on computer science. Students are also encouraged to consider the implications of these technologies for future society as they acquire this foundational knowledge.

[Learning Activities Outside the Classroom]
Students are expected to spend approximately 2 hours per week on preparation and review to reinforce their understanding of course content.

Grades will be based on the following components:

Final examination: 70%

Class participation (including confirmation quizzes and questionnaires): 30%
