Outline (in English)

This class is designed for the students who study economics for the first time. This class offers lectures on introductory microeconomics. The theory of microeconomics is formal but this class tries to teach that as intuitively as possible. In doing so, the lecturer will give you a bunch of examples that can be observed in your real life and that are actually going on in real business. Understanding economics with relevant examples strengthen your knowledge of economics.

The aim is to learn the theory needed to understand real economic phenomena, and to deepen your understanding by citing examples of real-life business and consumer behavior. For example, after a long period of deflation, prices have been rising recently. The reasons for the rise in prices vary from item to item. We will consider what is happening in each market, and then consider it theoretically, so that we can clarify the background to the rise in prices.

In particular, this lesson assumes knowledge of the theory of simple perfect competition. On this basis, the lesson will deal with themes such as oligopoly, externalities and public goods.

You don't need to do any preparation, but please make sure to do some review after each class. Please make sure to solve the example problems yourself and make sure you understand them.
The standard amount of time for this class is 2 hours each. However, I would like you to spend more time on review than preparation.

The midterm report will be assessed at 40%, and the final report at 60%. Both will be multiple choice or similar questions. There will be no questions requiring long writing.

Every year, some students do not follow the instructions for submitting their answers. In such cases, even if the answers are correct, there is a possibility that no points will be awarded. Please follow the instructions carefully.
