Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
This class is positioned as an introductory course for studying sports science at SSI. Therefore, we aim to acquire basic knowledge related to the field by overviewing the latest trends in sports science in Japan and overseas.
【Learning Objectives】
1.Deepen understanding of the effects of sports science on improving performance.
2.Deepen understanding of the relationship between sports and physical and mental health.
3.Deepen understanding of the cultural aspects of sports.
4.Deepen understanding of the educational effects of sports.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
The preparatory study and review time for this class is 2 hours each, and the specific content of the efforts is as follows.
1.It is desirable to record daily what you felt / noticed in sports scenes and daily life. The recorded content will be a clue to deepen your understanding of this class.
2.Get in the habit of looking at various sports-related information sent from TV, newspapers, the Web, etc. This work will deepen your understanding of the contents of this lecture.
3.If you have any specified documents, please read them carefully in advance.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
1. Overall evaluation based on 50% participation in class and 50% submission of reaction papers etc.
2. If the attendance is less than 2/3 of the class sessions (10 sessions), the student will receive an E grade.
