Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
The aim of this course is to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts and principles of gas cycles and vapor cycles and their applications for thermodynamics theoretical cycles.

(Learning objectives)
The objectives of this integrated subject are as follows: 1.Evaluate the performance of gas power cycles for which the working fluid remains a gas throughout the entire cycle. 2.Analyze both closed and open gas power cycles.3.Analyze vapor power cycles in which the working fluid is alternately vaporized and condensed.4.Investigate ways to modify the basic Rankine vapor power cycle to increase the cycle thermal efficiency.

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.

(Grading criteria/Policies)
Your final grade will be decided according to the following process:
・The ratio of class attendance over 70%(over 10/14) will be decided the final grade
・Usual performance score 60%, term-end examination 40%
To pass, students must earn at least 60 points out of 100.
