Outline (in English)

Understanding the mechanism of the natural environment that is closely related to our daily life, students will consider the artificial changes in the environment like the destruction of the ozone layer and the heat island phenomenon etc... and the solutions. Then students will be able to discuss changes in the natural environment created by human activities.
The following seven goals are to be achieved.
To understand the natural environment by obtaining knowledge of meteorology and climatology.
To consider the effects of human activities on the natural environment.
To comprehend extreme weather events caused by changes in the natural environment.
To consider the predictions of change in the natural environment.
To consider and summarize problems and measures of changes in the natural environment by mankind.
To develop the ability to understand related treatises by summarizing assigned papers.
To improve presentation skills by giving presentations, and discussion skills by posing questions, expressing opinions, and debating.
Students will be expected to have completed the required
assignments after each class meeting. Your study time will be
more than four hours for a class.
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the
following
Term-end examination: 40%、Quizzes・Short reports: 40%、in Class Participation: 20%
