Outline (in English)

Course outline
We will learn the essential contents of Japanese art history and modern art in a bird's-eye view and practical way.
1. Art history and art theory which is the basis for understanding art
2. Work production including more practical content · Planning of art exhibitions · Art criticism
I will learn a wide range of them step by step.

Learning Objectives
We will take up some keywords about Japanese art's ideas and basic ideas and consider the viewpoints and ideas behind them, based on specific examples such as works and discourses related to the works. At the workshop, we will challenge applied practices such as work production, exhibition planning, and art criticism based on what we learned in each unit.

Learning activities outside of the classroom
The content delivered on the Google site contains many website links to deepen your learning, so we recommend browsing the ones that interest you. There are also many museums and galleries near the university. If possible, depending on the infection status of the new coronavirus, please watch exhibitions.
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

Grading Criteria /Policy
Grades will be evaluated based on the total of class activities, assignments and reports. We emphasize the experimentality and positiveness of our efforts. The scoring ratio is as follows.
1. Initiatives for classes (50%)
2. Issues and reports (50%)

Based on this grade evaluation method, those who have achieved 60% or more of the achievement target of this class will be accepted.
