Outline (in English)

[Course outline] Knowledge of how to provide comprehensive support for evacuation and rebuilding of life after a disaster occurs, as well as the necessary preparation for effective support after a disaster occurs. They will acquire skills and explore what kind of support is needed for victims of natural disasters that are repeated and huge every year.
[Learning Objectives] Learn about the support and support methods needed by disaster victims and deepen their understanding of practical support.
---Learn about the disaster support system in Japan and think about what kind of preparations are necessary in daily life.
---Learn the importance of people supporting the community not only through one-sided support but also through the formation and mutual assistance of communities that can support each other.
[Learning activities outside of classroom] The study of disaster relief does not exist only within a fixed framework such as "disaster support studies", but because many hints are latent in daily life, oneself has a lot of hints in daily life. It is important to think about how to tackle disaster prevention and mitigation while sending a message, and since you can get a lot of awareness by interacting with people, actively obtain information and share it with people. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
[Grading Criteria /Policy] Fall semester regular exam 50%, normal score 30%, report 20%
Since we will hold exercises and hands-on lessons, we request continuous attendance. The number of attendances, which is a prerequisite for earning credits, will be clearly stated at the time of orientation (first class).
