Outline (in English)
【Course outline】This course is designed to develop students' basic academic skills to cultivate their specialties in the undergraduate programs at the faculty of Social Policy and Administration. The course will provide various activities and lectures for students to gain their foundational knowledge and experience in the three major fields of study at our faculty, namely social welfare, community development, and clinical psychology. 【Learning Objectives】At the completion of this course, students will be able to make good use of the university’s library and online resources, write reports in Japanese, have a deeper knowledge of disability support and harassment prevention, and engage in various types of volunteer work. Students will also be able to develop their own plan for their academic lives and be prepared to determine the specialty they would like to focus on in the following years.【Learning activities outside of classroom】Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content. 【Grading Criteria /Policy】Grading will be decided based on in-class contribution (50%), and the quality of the students’ performance in the class（Discussion, presentation, and report）(50%).

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
現代福祉学部での学習の基礎となるスキルと知識を習得するとともに、学生同士、学生と教員との交流を通して、豊かな人間関係を育み、学部の教育理念であるウェルビーイング（Well-being）の考え方を学ぶことを目標とします。
到達目標Goal
現代福祉学部の大きな３つの分野、社会福祉・地域づくり・臨床心理に関しての入門的な知識を身に着けること。
レポート等の書き方の学習や図書館の活用、障がい者支援活動、ハラスメント予防、キャリア教育についてのガイダンスを通して、将来の職業から導かれる自身の教育の計画ができるようになること。

２０人程度の少人数です。図書館など各種関連施設からのガイダンスを受けたり、実習指導室での体験学習を行う他は、ゼミ教室における学習と意見交換を行います。課題、質問や意見などへのフィードバックは授業中に行うか、学習支援システムを通じて行います。

授業時間外の学習（準備学習・復習・宿題等）Work to be done outside of class (preparation, etc.)
授業の予習と復習をしてください。授業時間だけで内容を自分のものにするのは難しいものです。授業の内容を自分で確認する事によってその内容が習得できます。本授業の準備学習・復習時間は各2時間を標準とします。
