Outline (in English)

This course introduces students to basic terminology and concepts in the study of the English language.Students get a general introduction to English linguistics, including phonetics and phonology (the study of speech sounds), syntax (the structure of sentences), and language acquisition (how children acquire their native language) and the history of the English language.
 The goal of this course is to give students the basic knowledge to understand English linguistics.
 Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.
 Final grade will be calculated according to the following process Mid-term report (20%), term -end examination (40%), and in-class contribution (40%)
