Outline (in English)

Course outline: The objective of this seminar is to understand marketing, especially advertising, communication and branding. In the spring semester, students will read basic textbooks and discuss in groups using case studies, newspapers, and magazine articles. In addition, they will practice Free Software R. In the fall semester, they will collect and analyze their data, and finally write a research paper.
Learning Objectives: The students will acquire marketing knowledge and skills and will be able to explain the significance and role of marketing. They will understand the characteristics of consumer behavior and develop the ability to carry out marketing activities systematically and rationally from the customer's perspective.
Learning activities outside of classroom: Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend two hours to understand the course content.
Grading Criteria /Policy: Final grade will be calculated according to the following process: content of the presentation in charge (30%), term-end research paper (30%,) and in class contribution (40%).
