Outline (in English)

This seminar covers the basics of finance. Topics include corporate finance, portfolio theory, derivatives pricing and associated issues. Students will be responsible for participating in an individual and/or group presentation. Active class participation is highly encouraged.

By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
A. understand the basic principle of valuing financial assets.
B. understand how stocks, bonds, and derivatives are valued.
C. understand how the firm raises the necessary capital.
D. understand why M&As are conducted.
E. build presentation skills.

Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.

Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
Preassigned presentation: 30%, Class participation; 40%, Project presentation : 30%.
