Outline (in English)

The purpose of this lecture is to analyze and consider the structure, function, and role of networks and organizations, focusing mainly on networks and organizations (corporations, corporations) in Japan. Specifically, from the perspective of the social science field (mainly sociology, business science, economics, law), we will examine phenomena related to social networks, including SNS, from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. In addition, we will introduce the small world model, the strength of weak ties, models related to mathematical sociology such as threshold theory, and hypotheses. Finally, exercises will be given on understanding the framework of idea-creating methods based on network theory and decision-making theory, and on specific tasks.
