Outline (in English)

Reinforced concrete (RC) is widely used for social infrastructure. Engineers, who design urban facilities, need to understand fundamental matters such as the nature of materials used for reinforced concrete and the behavior of RC members under various loads. This course aims to comprehend these issues. Students will learn about the design theory of RC structures and the mechanical properties of the materials, followed by the behavior and design method of RC beam or column members in relation to bending moment, shear and axial force through calculation exercises.
