Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
Service design is a design field that approaches the development of complex products and services from a holistic perspective that encompasses technology, creativity, and business. In this class, we will plan a new service with an emphasis on user experience , and acquire a basic perspective on service design through a series of processes from research to idea generation, prototyping, and presentation.
This year's theme is "Intrinsic motivation," and the students will plan a service based on their own area of interest, and conduct an exercise in preparation for a presentation to investors.

【Learning Objectives】
The goal is to learn the basic service design process through thematic assignments and to communicate the devised service in an attractive manner.
Students will be required to make a presentation and a prototype of their service. In addition, UI (applications, websites, etc.) is not required, but the basics of UI design will be covered in class.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
The standard preparation and review time for this class is two hours each.
Students should observe the frustrations they feel in their daily lives and consider the intentions and structures of the products and services around them.

【Grading Criteria /Policy）】
Attendance and class attitude (40 points)
Submission of work (20 points)
Presentation content (40 points)

A total score of 90 or higher is considered an S.
A+ for 89-87, A for 86-83, A- for 82-80
A+ for 89-87, A for 86-83, A- for 82-80, B+ for 79-77, B for 76-73, B- for 72-70, C+ for 69-67, and C- for 69-67.
A score of 69 to 67 is C+, 66 to 63 is C, 62 to 60 is C-.
A score of less than 60 is considered a D.

Students who are absent for 5 classes or 3 consecutive days will not be graded. Students who are tardy for more than 15 minutes will be counted as one absence. (However, if there is a valid reason, both absences and tardies will not be counted as one absence.)
