Outline (in English)

The Weimar Republic (1918-33) was a golden age in modern German cultural history. In particular, the films produced during this period were enthusiastically received around the world with their characteristic aesthetics and motifs. In this course, we will analyze the reception of Weimar films in European countries, the U.S., and Japan, using literature and visual works as clues.
