Outline (in English)
In the first half of this class, students will learn about the relationship between the world's diversity and the natural environment from the perspective of "industry," and in the second half, they will learn how to read topographic maps and the history of the municipal system as basic knowledge for regional surveys in Japan. The objective of this course is to be able to explain the diversity of the world's industries and the mechanisms that produce such diversity using geographical perspectives and knowledge, and to explain specific regional characteristics using topographical maps published by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI). The standard preparation and review time for this class is one hour each, and students are expected to think deeply about social issues related to geography and prepare for in-class discussions. Grading will be based on the content of the reaction paper to be submitted each time (40%), assignments to be given in class (20%), and a regular exam at the end of the semester (40%).

前半では、「産業」という切り口から世界の多様性と自然環境との関係性について学ぶ。後半では、国内での地域調査のための基礎知識として、地形図の見方と市町村制度の歴史について学ぶ。
到達目標Goal
世界の産業の多様性と、その多様性を生み出すメカニズムについて地理学的観点・知識を用いて説明できる。国土地理院刊行の地形図を用いて、具体的な地域の特徴を説明できる。

教科書は使用しない。
第８～９回の授業で使用するため、２万５千分１地形図（435円）を購入してもらう。

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
授業での学習状況と参加度による平常点（主にリアクションペーパーの内容）を40%、授業中に指示する課題を20%、学期末に行う定期試験を40%として評価する。
