Course outline:
This course aims to explore the development of modern social thought in the West focusing on the "method" of social philosophy.
Course outline:
This course aims to the significance of the idea of the welfare state on the "ideal society.
Learning Objectives:
(i) To understand the welfare state as one of the ideas concerning the "ideal society.
(ii)To understand how ideas to eliminate poverty and social inequality were formed through the process of trial and error of representative intellectuals.
(iii) Through (i) and (ii), to acquire the ability to envision what an "ideal society" should be.

春学期「社会思想史Ⅰ」に引き続き、「あるべき社会」をめぐる福祉国家の思想の意義を理解する。
到達目標Goal
（1）「あるべき社会」をめぐる福祉国家の思想の意義を理解する。
（2）貧困や社会的な不平等を解消するための思想がいかにして形成されたのかを、代表的な知識人の試行錯誤のプロセスに即して理解する。
（3）自らが「あるべき社会」が何かについて構想する力を身につける。

福祉国家に関わる歴史的な言説および代表的な研究を、可能な限り原典に即して詳しく取り上げて解説する。毎回授業の内容に関する簡単な質問を行い、次回の授業の冒頭で回答に対してリプライのコメントを行う。
