Outline (in English)

During the spring break, students attend Chinese intensive program which partner university provides and learn language and culture (including online programs). This program aims to develop global awareness and cross-cultural understanding by improving students’ language proficiency and additionally using the language in a practical manner during their stay.

【Learning Objectives】
This program is open to students with no previous experience of contacting other cultures abroad or those who want to learn Chinese from the beginners' level. Through this program, students will improve their language skills and gain a better understanding of other cultures, thereby acquiring the basic skills to become global human resources.
It is hoped that the program will motivate students to take on the challenge of more advanced study abroad, such as long-term study abroad.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
This will be instructed by each program site. Students should keep records as appropriate so that they can write a final report after the completion of the program.
The total time for preparation and review should be approximately 40 hours.

【Grading Criteria /Policies】
Students will be comprehensively evaluated on the basis of certificate and transcript which should be issued to students who actively participated in the program for the entire period and the content of the final report, and the members of the committee of Global Education Center will discuss whether they can earn credits. Based on the evaluation results, the faculty committee of the faculties to which the students belong will determine whether they can earn credits. Students who wish to earn credits must apply to the Global Education Center in advance.
The number of credits and whether or not they can be counted as graduation credits vary depending on the faculty, so make sure to check with the faculty beforehand. (Course registration and grading for the program will be done in the semester following the participation, so fourth-year students who participated in the spring intensive program will not be eligible to earn credits.)
