Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
In this class, we will discuss "Feminist Phenomenology" (eds. Minae Inahara et al., 2023). Students will learn about gender and queer theory applied to the analysis of culture and representation. They will also analyze specific literary and visual texts.
(Learning Objectives)
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the following:
1) Acquire basic knowledge about gender and queer theory.
2) Read literary and cultural works from the perspective of gender and queer studies.
(Learning activities outside of the classroom)
Students are required to read the reference material by the next session (one to three hours for every session). They are also expected to be prepared to deliver presentations in class.
(Grading Criteria /Policy)
The final grade will be decided based on the following:
Involvement during discussion and presentation: 60%
Final essay: 40%
