Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
The course's objective is to improve students' ability to comprehend and discuss environmental public policy by critical reading of relevant original literature.

(Learning Objectives)
At the end of the course, students should be able to :
・explain the recent environmental policies in terms of their historical background, achievements, limitations, and so on.
・take a critical look at the meaning of "sustainable development".

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Students are required to read the relevant chapter(s) from the text prior to every class meeting. It takes you more than four hours to study for each class meeting.

(Grading Criteria /Policy)
Reporting in class (including regime) 30%, Term-end essay 30%, and Class contributions 40%.
