Outline (in English)

【Couse outline】
This course aims to consider the various "truths" and "lies" that appear and disappear in the "inter-subjectivity" of people, using the essay "Truth and Politics" (1967) by Hannah Arendt (1906-1975).
Modern society is covered with many "lies": SNS are filled with information that is a mixture of truth and falsehood, and the words of politicians on the news hide a variety of lies. Systematic "lies" by state power and the media are not only "wrong" but also cover up the very existence of the events and people involved in them.
What is the difference between correct and false information? In a world composed with inter-subjectivity, can there be an absolute and objective "truth"? If some kind of "truthfulness" can be found in the world, what form can it take?
The purpose of this course is to learn the philosophical way of "thinking for oneself with other people" through to study of political philosophy of Arendt.
