To encourage students to use reference sources and feedback from the instructor to improve their English skills.
到達目標Goal
1). Students will learn how to speak with others in defined social interactions more effectively and appropriately. 2). Students will have a wider range of vocabulary covering a number of thematic areas and be able to use the grammatical structures covered in the course to achieve objective goals and express their own ideas and opinions more successfully. 3). Students will be able to use reference sources and feedback to better overcome weaknesses and use strengths in their use of English.

The class uses a textbook organized in thematic units with a focus on specific grammar structures and appropriate functional language. The class will comprise of frequent pair work and group work and listening tasks during class to familiarise students with the use of vocabulary and grammar structures in English. The class will also include realistic listening comprehensions to improve listening skills. Role-play tests will be used to evaluate speech skills, and homework assignments will be set to evaluate progress in writing skills.

2 written assignments covering language covered in the course will be set and assessed according to task completion and accuracy and variety of use of target language.Preparation and practice exercises will be set to consolidate learning of target language. Work to be completed outside class will take students between one hour and ninety minutes per week.

Students have valued the amount of actual speech practice in class and focused on performance of language in role plays as useful but also somewhat challenging in both the last year and previous years.
学生が準備すべき機器他Equipment student needs to prepare
Students may bring a paper or electronic dictionary to class. Students may use a dictionary on their smartphone or computer, but any use of a smartphone or computer unconnected to the lesson will be penalised and affect the student's grade.
