Outline (in English)

This is a class where students who said they would never be able to give a presentation will finally be able to participate in a presentation of their own volition. The lecturer, who served as an attaché (public relations) for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics and connected athletes, their companies, and the media, spotlights the Olympics and Paralympics in Paris and Shohei Otani's MLB and uses videos to address students' interests and We will cover a variety of topics that will pique your interest. Students receive messages and develop their communication skills to express their ideas in their own words. This class is suitable for job hunting and other activities as a member of society.
【Learning Objectives】
In order to hone skills that cannot be replaced by AI, the basic theme is how to find your own answers to problems for which there are no correct answers. How can we become aware of the pitfalls of assumptions and preconceptions while searching for the question "Why?" While building horizontal relationships based on mutual respect and trust, we will expose you to diverse perspectives and ways of thinking, and also explain the importance of having multiple points of view. While encountering various themes each time, you will learn methods that you can use yourself and develop the ability to put them into practice. Ultimately, the goal is to be able to see the trends of the times in one's own way, and to be able to present in writing or words, ``this is how I think.''
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Let's be conscious of how sports are conveyed on TV and the Internet on a daily basis. Don't get complacent about the information in front of you, ask yourself, "Is this really true?" After learning about diverse perspectives, you can reach the conclusion that "I think this way." Based on the theme of the class, let's think about it in advance for 1 hour, reflect on it, and make it a meaningful lecture.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Emphasis on attendance and reporting. Add points in presentations and exams.
●At the end of each class, set aside a certain amount of time to submit a short report based on the day's theme. The evaluation criteria are the degree of understanding of the lectures, diverse viewpoints, specific examples, and whether or not they show their own way of thinking (5% x 12 times = 60%).
●An opinion presentation will be held in the 13th class (10%).
● In the final week, students will take a report-style exam to see how well they have understood sports journalism and acquired communication skills (30%).
