Outline (in English)

1.Course outline
This business management class is designed for students who study for the first time to understand the basics knowledge of business administration.Students learn how business science theory is applied to the corporation activities, which is very familiar in their daily life.This class is focused on management strategy and organization theory with variety of case studies. Various cases studies are provided to support deep understanding of the corporate activities and their business operations.

2.Learning Objectives
Business Administration can be regarded as the study of a specific area of corporate activity. However, it is very familiar in our private life, because we use goods or services as the products of suppliers' corporate activities. The goal of this lecture is to understand the basics of business administration as familiar matters.

3.Learning activities outside of classroom
・Students are expected to read the materials prior to the lecture. The content of each lecture is based on the material.
・Students are given an assignment to look up basic terms related to business administration or current terms related to corporate management. Students present their research results and findings during the lecture.
・The standard preparation and review time for this lecture is 2 hours each.

4.Grading Criteria /Policy
Grades for this course will be based on the following five points.

1)Lecture participation (10%)
Active participation in the lecture will be evaluated.

2)Submission of reaction paper (10%)
Submission of a reaction paper summarizing thoughts and opinions on the lecture content after the lecture.

3)Submission of answers to basic and current terminology (20%)
For each lecture, students are required to research basic terms related to business administration and current terms related to corporate management, and submit the results of their research.

4)Submission of assignment reports (30%)
Students will be asked to prepare three reports as the lecture progresses. Must be submitted by the due date. Reports will be evaluated based on the content of the lecture.

5)Final report (30%)
Prepare and submit a report applying what you have learned in the lecture.
