Outline (in English)
The aim of this class is to help students build confidence and vocabulary to deal with a variety of conversational situations in English. Students will practice skills such as initiating and building a conversation. Role-plays and discussions will be incorporated to allow students to improve their general conversation skills.

By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
― Acquire fundamentals of English speaking skills.
― Increase vocabulary, broaden English speaking skills, gain confidence.
― Develop critical thinking skills.

You need to spend the same amount of time as the lesson itself for self-study both preview and review. Be sure to review what has been said during class to prepare yourself for next class.

To practice and improve practical English conversation skills in a variety of situations.
平易ながらも、学生生活・日常生活のいずれの場面においても汎用性の高い「使える英語表現」を学びます。

"Friends"、"The Family"、"Free Time"、"City Life" など、多岐に渡るテーマでひとつのユニットが構成されています。ユニットの内容に基づく学習については前半と後半に分け、前半では、関連する語彙や表現を学ぶインプットの機会とし、後半では、ロールプレイや、各回のテーマに応じた表現をもとに実際発話するなどのアウトプットの機会として進めます。さらにユニットの締めくくりとして、テーマに沿った内容に従って自分の意見を述べるなどプレゼンテーションを行います。

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
授業参加態度40%、プレゼンテーション、ロールプレイ、スピーチ等40%、課題20%、以上の観点に基づき、総合的に評価します。
