Outline (in English)

This is a compulsory language course aimed at fostering practical English skills for effective intercultural communication. This course is basically designed to build reading strategies such as scanning and skimming for a variety of texts to improve reading comprehension skills. Students will expand their reading vocabulary to understand different types of materials in English and become familiar with text organization. Students will learn skills such as discerning the main idea and supporting ideas of reading selections to build accurate reading skills. Communication skills will be reinforced through classroom activities such as oral summaries and presentations.

By the end of the course, students should be able to do thefollowings:
― Acquire fundamentals of English 4 skills; Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing.
― Understand how to connect English texts.
― Develop critical thinking skills.
[Learning Activities Outside of Classroom]
You need to spend the same amount of time as the lesson itself for self-study both preview and review. Be sure to review what has been said during class to prepare yourself for next class.

40%: Participation in class activities.
40%: Examinations (Midterm / Final).
20%: Assignments and Quizzes.
