Outline and objectives

○大学教育で必要となる外国語コミュニケーション能力のうち、英語における「読む」「話す」「書く」能力の向上を目指す。
○現代英語の実情を知り、異文化間コミュニケーションの方法、そして相互理解を図る目的と方法を各自で探る。

This course aims to develop the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) by placing special emphasis on listening skills and ability to express oneself in writing and speaking. You will learn new expressions and practise using them in conversation, discussions and written texts.

In this class you will be encouraged to express effectively your ideas which will help you become more active and confident communicators in the global society.

By the end of the course, students should be able to make presentations confidently.

Goal

Grading criteria

Students are expected to actively participate in class, prepare short presentations, complete writing assignments and pass the final test.

Your work will be evaluated as follows:
- Active participation in class: 20%
- Writing assignments, homework and tests: 40%
- Presentations: 40%
