Outline (in English)
【Course outline】
This class is designed for students for upper beginner level students. Students will practice basic Japanese vocabulary, kanji and listening, and are expected to further develop.
【Learning Objectives】
The purpose of this class is to assist students to handle upper beginner level Japanese. Students are actually able to get new kanji and vocabulary with classmates. Also, enough chances in various conversational cases at listening.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
※Students are expected to study at least one hour at home for preparing /reviewing the lessons.
※Students are expected to memorize new kanji and vocabulary for quizzes before coming to the class. Progress is always based on "Japanese 7, 8, and 9" classes.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Class participation, study sheet：30％
Midterm exam：20％
Final exam：20％
Quizzes：30％
※Students who miss 4 or more times will not be eligible for a credit on this course, nor take the final exam.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
This class is designed for students for upper beginner level students. Students will practice basic Japanese vocabulary, kanji and listening, and are expected to further develop the Japanese proficiency needed in daily life by expanding basic knowledge.
しょきゅうこうはんレベルの がくせいの クラスです。 ちょうかい、ごい、かんじを べんきょうしながら、きほんてきなにほんごを みにつけて、わかるにほんごを ふやすことが できます。
到達目標Goal
The purpose of this class is to assist students to handle upper beginner level Japanese. Students are actually able to get new kanji and vocabulary with classmates. Also, enough chances in various conversational cases at listening.
このクラスをとることで、しょきゅうこうはんレベルの にほんごが もっとよく わかるように なります。
かんじや ごいを、クラスメイトと いっしょに れんしゅうすることが できます。

※This class will engage in practical exercises based on what you studied in "Japanese 7, 8, and 9". Students who take "Japanese 7, 8, and 9"
are all expected to take this class for keeping up the pace. It is strongly recommended to take both classes.
※Please attend the class in the first and second week. The student coming for the first time in the third week cannot take the class.
※In this class, selection will be made if there is a large number of students enrolled.
※This class was called "Japanese 3S (Listening, Vocabulary & Kanji)" "Japanese 3F (Listening, Vocabulary & Kanji) "until FY2023. Students who have earned credits in the past will not be able to take this class again.
＊このクラスは、「にほんご7，8，9」クラスで べんきょうしたことを れんしゅうします。このクラスだけ とることは できません。「にほんご7，8，9」クラスと いっしょに このクラスを とることを つよく すすめます。
＊１しゅうめと２しゅうめのクラスには、かならず しゅっせきしてください。３しゅうめに はじめてきたがくせいは、クラスをとることができません。
＊このクラスは、にんずうが おおかったら、せんこうします。
＊このクラスは 2023ねんどまで「J3S日本語聴解・語彙・漢字（にほんごちょうかい・ごい・かんじ）」「J3F日本語聴解・語彙・漢字（にほんごちょうかい・ごい・かんじ）」のなまえでした。かこに クラスの たんいを とったがくせいは、もういちど このクラスを とることは できません。
