Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
This class is designed for students for upper beginner level students. Students will practice basic Japanese vocabulary, kanji and listening, and are expected to further develop.
【Learning Objectives】
The purpose of this class is to assist students to handle upper beginner level Japanese. Students are actually able to get new kanji and vocabulary with classmates. Also, enough chances in various conversational cases at listening.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
※Students are expected to study at least one hour at home for preparing /reviewing the lessons.
※Students are expected to memorize new kanji and vocabulary for quizzes before coming to the class. Progress is always based on "Japanese 7, 8, and 9" classes.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Class participation, study sheet:30%
Midterm exam:20%
Final exam:20%
Quizzes:30%

※Students who miss 4 or more times will not be eligible for a credit on this course, nor take the final exam.
