Outline (in English)
【Course outline】
This is a listening class of mid-intermediate level.
This course aims at developing over all listening ability and increasing vocabulary through listening to various topics.
【Learning Objectives】
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
1. understand and summarize the contents of various topics such as news, society, culture, and nature.
2. get used to the natual speaking speed and understand the contents.
3. understand and use the vocabulary and Kanji of JLPT N3 level to the first half of N2.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
1. Students are expected to complete all the assignments.
2. Students are expected to study at least two hours at home for preparing /reviewing each lesson.
【Grading Criteria/Policy】
Class participation: 30%
Assignments :10%
Quizzes:20%
Mid-term Exam:20%
Final Exam:20%
※Students who miss 4 or more classes will not be allowed to take the final exam, and not be eligible for the credit on this course.
※Three tardiness will be counted as one absence.
※Please attend the class in the first and second weeks. The student coming for the first time in the third week cannot take the class.
【Others】
※The selection will be held if the number of applicants exceeds the class size limit.
※This class was called "Japanese 5S (Intensive I)" "Japanese 5F (Intensive I)"until FY2023. Students who have earned credits in the past will not be able to take this class again.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
このクラスは中級の中期レベルの聴解クラスです。クラスではいろいろなトピックの話を聞き、内容を理解（りかい）し、語彙（ごい）を増やします。
到達目標Goal
このクラスでは以下のことが学べます。
・自然（しぜん）に近（ちか）いスピードの日本語が理解（りかい）できるようになります。
・かんたんなニュースや社会・文化・自然などの話題（わだい）についての説明を聞いて、内容をだいたい理解できるようになります。また、要点（ようてん）をつかめるようになります。
・JLPT N3からN2レベル前半の語彙（ごい）や漢字を理解（りかい）し、使えるようになります。

進め⽅と⽅法は以下の通りです。
1.ニュース・説明・発表などの聞き取りをします。
2.ことばの練習や、構成（こうせい）メモを書く練習をします。
3.聞き取り練習に出てきた漢字・語彙のテストをします。
＊課題や宿題の提出（ていしゅつ）・フィードバックにはGoogle Classroomを使います。

＊欠席（けっせき）を４回以上すると単位（たんい）は出ません。また、期末試験も受けることができません。
＊遅刻（ちこく）は３回で、１回の欠席（けっせき）になります。

＊授業の1週目、2週目はかならず出席してください。3週目に初めて来る学生は、原則（げんそく）としてクラスを取ることができません。
*４回以上（いじょう）欠席（けっせき）した場合（ばあい）は、期末試験（きまつしけん）をうけられません。
＊履修希望者（りしゅうきぼうしゃ）が多い場合は、選考（せんこう）します。
＊このクラスは2023年度まで「J5S日本語集中（にほんごしゅうちゅう）Ⅰ」「J5F日本語集中Ⅰ」の名称（めいしょう）でした。過去（かこ）に旧クラスの単位（たんい）を取った学生は、再度（さいど）このクラスを取ることはできません。
