Outline (in English)

In this class, students listen to interviews in French while watching videos, accurately read sentences written in French, and consider the content of each chapter. We will discuss and present the topic in class to understand the current situation of Generation Z in France. Attainment target: Students will be able to roughly understand the content of news and speeches in French. And by looking up the meanings of words, they will be able to read and form opinions on simple newspaper articles written in French. Class progress and methods: The course progresses at the speed of completing one six-page lesson in three lessons. First, listen to the interview to understand the content and acquire vocabulary. We also check the script used for the interview while reading it. Next, solve the practice problems while checking the grammar points. The whole class will create questions about the theme based on the interviews, and then have a discussion in groups by answering the questions. The results will be summarized by group and presented in the classroom. Let's practice expressing our opinions easily not only in Japanese but also in French. Answers to grammar practice questions given in class will be checked on the spot. For assignments that are simple summaries of your opinions written and submitted on the web or in class, those on the web will be printed out and then returned to the classroom with a grade, while those submitted on paper on the spot will be graded and then returned. (I plan to return it next time.) Learning outside of class hours: The standard preparation and review time for this class is approximately 1 hour in total. Preparation: Practice reading aloud using downloaded audio, look up vocabulary in a dictionary, etc., and translate. (about 30 minutes) Review: Check the grammar points learned in class and be able to write simple compositions. (Approximately 30 minutes) During the group discussion, students will write answers in French to the questions created in class and submit them on the class website or as a report. (about 30 minutes) Performance evaluation: Normal score (participation in class, discussion and presentation) 50%, Final exam (oral/written exam held on the last day of class) 50% Test method: The final exam will be held during class hours on the last day of regular classes, not during the exam period.
