Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
This course, together with German 4-II in the autumn semester, aims to provide students with a steadily increasing command of intermediate-level German grammar and expression.
By reading German texts while checking the grammar studied in the first year, the course aims to strengthen grammar skills, reading comprehension and vocabulary skills to accurately grasp the syntax and text, and to improve listening comprehension skills using videos.
The textbooks and videos cover important and interesting topics for understanding German-speaking cultures, so that by the end of the year you will have a greater knowledge and understanding of German-speaking societies and cultures, the way of thinking and daily life of the people living there, and much more.

[Learning Objectives]
Can use decimals and ordinal numbers.
Can use personal pronouns with case changes.
Can express using modal auxiliaries in speech.
Can use strong, weak and mixed case changes of adjectives.
Can express comparative adjectives and adverbs.

[Learning activities outside of classroom]
The standard preparation and review time for this class is one hour in total.
The preparation and review assignments will be given for each class.
Please make sure to practice reading aloud and try to be actively exposed to German outside of class.

[Grading Criteria/Policy]
A comprehensive evaluation is made by combining 50% of normal marks (attendance, active participation in class including partner practice and group work, assignments, etc.) and 50% of the final examination.
