Outline (in English)
[Course outline]
In this course, together with German 2-II in the autumn term, the aim is to acquire the basics of the German language and eventually to be able to decipher plain texts on your own, using a dictionary. In doing so, they learn the rules of pronunciation and practice reading aloud texts they have never seen before. You will also practice conversational expressions based on what you have learnt. Enjoy the pleasure of reading, writing, listening and speaking German.
[Learning Objectives]
Can greet people in German.
Can perform calculations (addition and subtraction) using numbers of around six digits.
Can understand basic pronunciation rules and spelling relationships.
Can tell the schedule for the week.
Can describe the events of the day.
Can order and pay at a café.
Understand the basic use of dictionaries.
[Learning activities outside of classroom]
The standard preparation and review time for this class is one hour in total.
The preparation and review assignments will be given for each class.
Please make sure to practice reading aloud and try to be actively exposed to German outside of class.
[Grading Criteria/Policy]
A comprehensive evaluation is made by combining 50% of normal marks (attendance, active participation in class including partner practice and group work, assignments, etc.) and 50% of the final examination.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
この授業では、秋学期の「ドイツ語２-II」と併せて、ドイツ語の基礎を身に付け、最終的には平易なテクストであれば、辞書などを用いて自力で解読できるようになることを目指します。その際、発音のルールを知って、初見のテクストでも音読できるように練習します。また学習したことを応用した会話表現の練習も行います。ドイツ語の読む、書く、聴く、話す楽しみを存分に味わいましょう。

・ドイツ語で挨拶ができる。
・6桁程度の数を使った計算（足し算・引き算）ができる。
・基本的な発音のルールと綴りの関係が分かる。
・1週間の予定が言える。
・1日の出来事を言える。
・カフェで注文や支払いができる。
・辞書の基本的な引き方ができる。
