Outline (in English)

This course is designed for students to practice and develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Students will study texts of diverse content, articulate own ideas and give short presentations.

The course’s aim is to further develop linguistic skills that students have acquired in previous English language courses. Students will read texts on current affairs and listen to real-world people present ideas about various issues, and they will improve their English fluency by engaging with and actively discussing these contents. Students will learn new key vocabulary, phrases, and grammar structures that they then shall actively employ to articulate own thoughts both verbally and in writing. Students shall also become proficient in identifying sources and accessing authentic English language content, and in examining information critically.

Outside of class, students are expected to review lessons and vocabulary, prepare short presentations, and complete writing assignments. The required study time is at least one hour for each class meeting.

Grading will be based on participation in class activities and homework (30%), quizzes (30%), and presentations (40%). In principle, no more than 3 absences per term are allowed.
