Outline (in English)

Course outline: English 1 focuses on developing reading,
listening, and summarizing skills. Using a textbook that
discusses the cultural side of globalization, students will learn
how to grasp the meaning and content of logical writings.
They will also attain knowledge necessary for their university
studies.
Learning Objectives: By the end of the course, students should
be able to acquire the skills mentioned above, mainly through
practicing phrase reading, paragraph reading, summarizing
and commenting on the reading passage of each unit.
Learning activities outside of classroom: Students are expected
to prepare for each class meeting by reading the passage and
working on the accompanying exercises.
Grading Policies: Grading will be decided based on reflection
papers (20%), short reports (15%), and the end-term exam (65%).
