Outline (in English)

Global interest in efforts to achieve a sustainable society has grown in recent years. Our daily lives and society are closely related to chemistry and therefore it is important to think from a chemical perspective in order to understand social issues. The goal of this lecture is to provide a chemical perspective to understand the materials and phenomena in our daily lives and social issues (environmental problems, energy problems) based on learning the basics of chemistry.

Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class. Students are also encouraged advanced reading or Web search based on their own interest after a class. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.

Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
Term-end examination: 70%, required assignments: 30%
