Outline (in English)

This course introduces basics of physics related to thermal phenomena, light, atoms, etc.
At the end of the course, students are expected to understand how various phenomena around us, such as heat, mirage, rainbow, aurora, etc., are explained from the fundamental laws.
Before and after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend totally four hours to understand the course content.
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following: Term-end examination (70%) and in class contribution including short reports (30%).
