Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
In the class, students take up various cases related to politics and society and try to understand the principles that drive politics and society and discover hidden problems. Through these efforts, we aim to become more aware of social, political and, more broadly, contemporary issues, understand their meaning, and develop the ability to think about solutions. Problem solving ability can be divided into the ability to discover a problem and the ability to solve it. The center of problem-solving ability lies in "finding a problem.". In many areas, the subject of "problem solving" is "finding a problem," as in a doctor who cannot be treated without being diagnosed. This "discovery of problems" is the starting point for creative problem solving.

(Learning Objectives)
・You can discover the principles and problems that drive politics and society.
・You can logically present and describe problems you find in your own words. (Learning activities outside of classroom) Since materials such as resumes and reference materials are distributed in advance, grasp the content of the lesson as a preparatory lesson and review it after the lesson.
・Two hours of advanced study: study concepts and read textbooks and references in advance. ・2 hours of post-course learning: Organize notes, look up textbooks, and read related literature.

(Grading Criteria /Policy)
Final exams (50%), preparation and review tasks (30%) and participation in biweekly group discussions (20%).
