Outline (in English)

High school geography classes focus on "memorizing" various phenomena in the world and Japan. In university geography, however, we learn the importance of understanding deeply and thinking logically about various phenomena in the modern world based on geographical keywords such as space, region, landscape and location. This course focuses on "islands" in particular, and aims to deepen the understanding of island life space using maps, charts, statistics, videos and photographs.
In each session, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
Grading will be decided based on the following :
reaction papers : 50%,term-end reports : 50%
