Outline (in English)

【授業の概要(Course Outline)】
Is there any way to apply the findings and methodologies in psychological science when working towards solving various issues in our society? With such a question in mind, students are expected to understand and articulate key concepts and findings in psychology through your own experiences and practices. No prerequisites, no prior knowledge of psychology is needed. Students who have previously taken PsychologyⅠ/Ⅱ are still eligible for this course.

【到達目標(Learning Objectives)】
What is "mind"? Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behavior, according to APA (American Psychological Association). The general goals of this course are to provide certain clues to respond to these questions, to acquire the ability to understand from various perspectives how a healthy human mind functions and develops, and to be able to give compassion to yourself and to others from a psychological perspective. In the spring semester, the classes are specifically designed to "build your resilience" and the fall semester to "promote your well-being," respectively. The year-long endeavor should have an integrated effect on both specific goals.

【授業時間外の学習(Learning Activities Outside of Classroom)】
Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Your study time will be around two hours before and after each class meeting.

【成績評価の方法と基準(Grading Criteria/Policy)】
Final grade will be calculated according to the following process: Mid-term report (25%), Final exam (Open book. It can be submitted online) (25%), and class-related activities (50%). More details will be explained in the first lecture of each semester.
