Outline (in English)

(1) Course Outline
This is an introductory course in psychology, where students will learn how different psychological theories conceptualized human beings, comparing with other theories. This spring term course will mainly focus on Freud, Jung, and Erikson’s theories, which deal with the unconscious. In order to understand a big picture of movement in psychology, students will be recommended to take Psychology II continuously in the autumn semester.
(2) Learning Objectives
By the end of the course, students are expected to understand (a) how Freud, Jung, and Erikson conceptualized human beings and their development, and (b) how students’ daily experiences can be explained by the psychological theories introduced in this course.
(3) Learning Activities Outside of Classroom
Students will be expected to spend 4 hours to understand the course content (2 hours each for before/after class meeting). Besides, students will be expected to spend their daily lives having course topics in the back of their mind.
(4) Grading Criteria/Policy
Final grade will be decided based on the term-end examination (100%).
