Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
With the development of a global society, art has become internationalized and built a borderless value system. The advent of the information society has brought about significant changes in economic conditions and political systems, developed rapid means of transportation, and created geopolitical disparities and risks between international countries. This project explores the state of art by focusing on the art trends of the latter half of the 20th century, which Neoliberal has created.

[Learning Objectives]
This course will explore the trends in contemporary art that have developed mainly in democratic nations in the international community. In particular, we will focus on the United States, Europe (England, France, and Germany), and Japan in the second half of the 20th century, comparing each nation's historical background and cultural conditions. The historical discussion will include World War II, the Cold War structure, the Berlin Wall collapse that divided East and West, and the challenges of social disparity caused by neo-liberal society.
By comprehensively understanding each country's cultural background and social environment, especially since the 1970s, we will pursue the creative values of contemporary society. In addition, we will also look into today's issues, such as regional development and community revitalization, and discover the challenges inherent in social trends and cultural promotion.
